2014 Art in the Park Announced!

Art in the Park will be happening Saturday, September 6th, 2014 from 11am to 5pm.

We chose the same day as the Beavercreek Popcorn Festival, because festival-goers may want to get away from the craziness of Dayton-Xenia road and hop over to peaceful Dominick-Lofino Park for an open display and lots of completely free art interaction.

Activities:

  • This year, we will bring back the Community Canvas! It was such a big hit last year, we are really excited to bring it out again for another round of paint.
  • Our paper mache sea monster was also a big hit last year, so I think we will be working with another sculpture on the lawn. Can't wait for you to join in!
  • Everyone also enjoyed chalk drawing on the sidewalk, so we are bringing lots more chalk!
  • Decoy Art is our biggest supporter, and will be on-hand with face painting and some more fun to-be-announced.

Food:

We are working on booking a food truck or two for the day! If you know someone with a food truck that would like to vend, please let us know!

Music:

We are also currently looking for musicians to play at Art in the Park. Can be acoustic, not sure on the electric situation, yet. If you need electric, let us know. If you play an instrument and just want to sit and strum away, please bring it and add to the atmosphere!

Craig's Pesto Hot Dogs to Cure Munchies at Art in the Park

Can you believe that it is almost time for Art in the Park? After so many months of planning, we are ready to transform Dominick-Lofino Park into a wonderland of artistic inspiration.

But all that culture can make you hungry. Fortunately, Craig Kigar of Craig's Pesto Hot Dogs recently contacted us to vend his delicious food at Art in the Park!

Craig serves up Nathan's Hotdogs and his own specialty... Quarter pound hot dogs! Now that's a lot of dog! His other signature dogs include the Ruben Dog, Kraut Dog and our favorite, the Pesto Hot Dog, featuring Craig's special pesto sauce. For those not into hotdogs, you can also select a Shredded Chicken sandwich. Yum!

Thanks so much to Craig for vending his delicious dogs at Art in the Park. The only thing that can make art better has to be food. Food makes everything better, right?

How Can I Display my Work at Beavercreek's Art in the Park?

How can you display your work at Art in the Park?

SHOW UP!

Get out to Dominick-Lofino park in Beavercreek at 11am on Saturday, August 3rd, 2013. Bring your art (please nothing that might offend) and a way to display it.

You can have a 'booth' if you just bring an EZ-Up type of canopy and some tables, or bring easels and such to display your art along the pond path for the Art Walk.

This is a *community* art show, so the entire community is invited! Artists from all around the Dayton area are welcome to bring their inspiration to Beavercreek!
